Just a couple of whispered words can create an enormous amount of change in our live. The power of gratitude for helping us bring what we want into our days is incredible. Simple, proven, effective – being grateful for everything brings us more opportunities to be grateful.
Not in an ugly way, like “You better be grateful for that food, there are starving kids who would be happy to have that to eat” but in an honest, heartfelt way. More like, “Thank you for my car, I love the ability I have to drive where I need to go” That kind of thinking can bring you a new car (if that’s what you want) a whole lot quicker than heaping curses on the car you have now.

Michael,
That was simple and yet powerful. I believe in thought and the hope you bring others with edifying them at every chance. The more you give and live a life of gratitude. The more which comes in your life.
Yes, I feel you have hit it on the top. You must think of things daily to be thankful for yet keep it real. I mean the simple things if you could not have, then you start to see unlimited things to be thankful for.
I am always thankful for being a live everyday. To be able to walk, see and breath. Just to have clean water and good food. How about having love surrounding you. How about being needed for just anything by others. I know the feelings of being needed by just anyone feels good and I am thankful.
Do not get focused all about you. If you can just help on person a day visualize hope in just anything. You will be a powerful insightful person. One who is known to be humble and live a life of gratitude.
I am thankful for Michael creating this article and showing others how easy it is to change your life by being grateful.
Thank you Michael for supporting us and sharing usable content throughout your site.

Thank you so much for your kind words, William. I so strongly believe in the healing power of gratitude because it has changed my life in profound ways. I start my days with gratitude and end them as well. And in between, I find so many opportunities to be thankful for things that quite frankly, I could easily spend all my time, everyday, just expressing my thanks.
And I have found it to be true, as you are saying, that it is a very powerful idea to share with people.
Thank you again for your kindness.
Very nice and certainly appropriate for the Easter Holiday weekend. Thanks for the reminder and inspiration.

I’m grateful for your short but sweet and meaningful insight Michael, on how important gratitude is in our lives. The word, gratitude, is one of my favorites! Being grateful when it comes for your inner self will be felt around others. Your attitude remains positive and bright. It truly is a powerful word especially when you put it into action.

Thank you for your kind words, Anthony. I know for sure that gratitude has made a huge difference in my life.
Such a simple thing and we fail to be grateful in so many situations.. I love your example of the curse of gratitude… “you’d better be grateful because…..” Thanks for sharing! Grateful I stopped by to see this today!!
Thank you, Holly. It’s true we get it mixed up so often. We are taught gratitude for every little thing, and we usually hear the word “little” instead of “every”. And that is just not how the world is. Thank you for your kind words.
Hello Michael
Samuel Johnson said that gratitude is a fruit of great cultivation. Your suggestion that just a couple of whispered words can create an enormous amount of change in our live is the cultivation which produces the gratitude fruit. Since it is a law of life, and an a principle that if we develop an attitude of gratitude our happiness will increase and our hearts become brighter. Thanks for your simple but enormously powerful life changing tip.
Thanks

Absolutely right, Jim. Gratitude is such an incredible force in the world. And so simple to use, it’s almost unbelievable. Almost
But it works so well, that I absolutely do believe.
Hi Michael,
I like the image that you used, it’s very inspiring! Gratitude is one of those things that can be very powerful if we allow it to be. If we focus on being grateful we will not only see the things that we are grateful for but our eyes will be opened to other things as we go through life. It’s a wonderful cycle once started!

Hi Kristen,
Absolutely right, gratitude can bring all kinds of wonderful things into our lives. And the more grateful we are, the more wonderful our lives become.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Hi Michael,
yes, I agree with you words of gratitude can be very powerful.
Even people with very little can find things to be thankful for.
It makes us feel better too.
Thank you for the post and the nice picture!
Thank you for your kind words, Doug. And for Mirror, Mirror. I shared it around and my friends have really enjoyed it.
Very powerful word, gratitude. In our lives, I believe we sometimes forget that there is much to be grateful for. Waking up each day and having the opportunity to share with others our life and work is something that we should be thankful for. Being surrounded by people we love is also something that is worth saying thank you. Let us not forget and be grateful for each day we are on this earth. Thanks for reminding me to say thank you!
Thank you Jeffrey, for your great words. Gratitude is a very powerful idea and wonderful way to live. that kind of feeling warms our hearts and if we are saying thank you to another, warms up their heart as well. Fabulous and simple and beautiful.
You’re so right: heaping curses, complaining, or self-pity surely won’t bring anything good into our lives. But gratitude has a powerful way of changing our focus, our attitude, and our heart. I like your emphasis on being grateful with genuine appreciation, rather than “I should be grateful.”

Thank you Stephen.
Being grateful is an organic kind of feeling, welling up from inside our hearts. I believe we are all born with this capability, a baby, when she gets what she wants, will express gratitude immediately, and the cycle is complete.
Want, express want, receive desire, express gratitude, it is a perfect idea. And you are right, gratitude powerfully changes our focus in a beautifully easy way.
Hi Michael,
yes, gratitude and appreciation are very powerful.
You are so right about expressing that we are thankful for being able to get around in the car we have. Not only are we more likely to get a better one that way, but we also feel better when we are grateful.
It is always nice to thank people for what they are doing. In each of us is probably the little inner child that was not praised and to get the appreciation when we are an adult is like balm to our ‘wounds from the past’.
Thank you for sharing this and the great picture quote.
To Well Being

You are so right, Yorinda, gratitude and appreciation are two of the most powerful ideas in the Universe. The more gratitude we express, the more opportunities we get to express gratitude.
It is the same with pretty much everything, the more we think about something, the more we see of it in the world. And it is up to us to deliberately focus on what we want to bring into our lives. Powerful, simple, fabulous.
